About Aging Health

Clinical Data. Senior Literacy. Patient Advocacy.

Welcome. I’m Tommy T. Douglas, an independent health researcher and patient advocate.

I don’t just study health data; I live it. In 2008, I survived a major heart attack that changed the trajectory of my life. Today, I manage Type 2 Diabetes with a regimen of Metformin and GLP-1 (Ozempic).

I know firsthand the frustration of being a patient in a system that speaks a language most people don’t understand. I created Aging Health to bridge that gap.

The Mission: Translating the Science of Aging

Medical journals and clinical trials are often locked behind paywalls or written in jargon that obscures the truth. My work is focused on Health Literacy—the ability to find, understand, and use health information to make informed decisions.

Every week, I dive into the latest peer-reviewed research to provide you with actionable insights in three critical areas:

  • Heart Health: Navigating cardiovascular resilience and recovery.

  • Brain Health: Strategies for cognitive wellness and memory care.

  • Metabolic Stability: The science of managing insulin, glucose, and longevity.

Why I Do This

As an independent researcher, I am not beholden to pharmaceutical companies or large health systems. My only goal is to provide seniors and advocates with the clarity they need to navigate the complexities of aging with confidence.

Knowledge is the best medicine, but only if you can understand it.
